“Dear young people, let yourselves be taken over by the light of Christ, and spread that light wherever you are.”
- Saint John Paul II
Young people bring life wherever they go. That is why I feel so blessed to be able to work with the teens at Saint Gabriel Parish.
My journey into Youth Ministry started with my family. I was raised in a family that actively practiced the Faith. They made sure I got the best Sacrament preparation and the best Catholic Education, but it didn’t end there. Faith was always more than a subject to my family and I was strongly encouraged as a teen to attend Youth Ministry events. By participating in these events I was taught how to have a relationship with Jesus Christ and how much God loved me.
This sparked a passion for ministry that has brought me to where I am today. I took a year after high school to serve with an organization called NET Ministries and worked with seven other young adults in a parish in Minnesota. From there I went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology and Catechetics with a focus in Youth Ministry from Franciscan University. Soon after, I married the love of my life, Maryellen, and we live with our dog in Waukesha.
Now I am working to build a Youth Ministry program here at your parish! The Saint Gabriel Youth Program seeks to lead teens closer to Christ and form young Disciples. I am so excited for these upcoming years and the responses that I’ve gotten so far from both parents and young people have been very encouraging. God is about a great work in this community and I am honored to be a part of it.
